Educational thinking of Confucius (60)

Zi Xia's disciples to Zi Zhang asked by friends. Zi Zhang asked:" how did Zi Xia say?" ( Zi Xia's people ) answer:" Zi Xia said: ' can make with him, do not make to him. '" Zi Zhang said:" this and I heard different: the gentleman can respect sages, and can accommodate all; to praise good people, and poor ability of mercy. If I were wise, for why they cannot contain? If I don't wise, others will refuse me, how ( on ) to refuse others?"
Zi Xia said:" although this is a small craft, must also have merit, but on 462 ambitious career may impede., so the gentleman does not engage in these small craft."
Zi Xia said:" a day to know something of the past do not know, do not forget every month. Master, ( so ) can be called good learning man."
Zi Xia said:" the industry artisan to [ ] in the workshop to finish my job all day, the gentleman should ( lifetime ) learning to achieve the purpose of."
Zi Xia said:" the villain to fault must hide." Tsze-hsia said, "the superior man undergoes three changes. Looked at from a distance, he appears stern; when approached , he is mild ; when he is heard to speak , his language is firm and decided."
Zi Xia said: "the gentleman to gain people's trust, then to encourage them; [ if ] don't trust, ( people ) will think is abuse of their own. To make ( monarch ) trust, then to remonstrate; ( if ) don't trust, ( King ) will think is libel myself."
